New Year 2014

This blog received 167.000 visits in 2013, slightly less than the year before (and yes, I blame it on Google Reader), totaling 685.000 since its begin in 2007.

Whereas I considered this blog to be about software development, these posts were the most popular:

I published 67 posts in 2013, totaling 587 since 2007.

The blog’s Table of Contents (created by wpxslgui) has been updated to include all posts up to December 2013.

Oh yes, and thanks WordPress for the nice Annual Report…

There must be a huge online market for golf and fake watches targeting the Japanese.

How do I know?

Well, spam bots from 62.210.202.241 and 62.210.202.243 and 192.99.9.72 tell me so. Permanently! Unfortunately, even if you are interested in 時計 コピー or アルマーニ 腕時計 or カシオ 時計 or ゴルフ ドライバー, you won’t find them here.

Another spam bot from 198.204.241.75 seems to have encoding problems posting Italian junk text, but the accented characters end up as 猫 or 霉. Meow.

Do you have a spam issue on this site; I also am a blogger, and I was curious about your situation

Follower Spam?

The internet gets stranger and stranger. After referrer spam, which I understand would only target blog admins, the latest trend is follower spam. Really?

500.000 Views

Whatever the WordPress stats are counting as “views all-time”, the counter hit 500.000 views today!

(I have no idea what is actually being counted: Are bots and spam bots excluded from that number? Referrer spam at least shows up in the referrer stats. If I leave a blog post open for some time, does that affect the stats?

I have no idea, so I just have this one number as an indicator of… anything)

Fifth Anniversary

Dear Diary

In the last 12 months, I started working on MS CRM applications, and I recently found jQuery programming extremely interesting.

Regarding my programs, most updates have been made to VS Solution Dependency Visualizer (web), automssqlbackup and wpxslgui have been brought up-to-date.

dbscript and SMOscript need some updates, too, and I hope to find some time for them soon.

I also started the Software Inventory page to find the software that I often work with more easily.

Most interestingly, this year’s posts that got the most hits up to today are related to batch programming, which is not really one of my core areas: Test if Directory exists in Batch file (.cmd) and Test if Network Directory exists in Batch file (.cmd)

Total stats: 455.000 views, 491 posts, more than 10.000 downloads.
